This design features a Madonna to represent all of the bonds Jack and Jill's mothers share. The special bond that they have with each of their children, the shared sisterhood that they have as mothers, and the connection that each member has—the mission of nurturing future leaders.
Celebrating 85 years of Jack and Jill of America, inc.
This quilt showcases the intergenerational connection of Friendship that lives within and across Girl Friends® chapters nationwide. It was important to show the joy, support, respect and natural connectivity of true friends. The women are adorned in the organization’s colors of apple and emerald green. The yellow tea roses, representing friendship and joy, also hold special meaning to members.

Much like the legacy they strive to create through friendship and service, this quilt is a keepsake that can be passed down from generation to generation.
The design was inspired by the strong spirit shared by Spelman women. Each compelling in her own right but bound by the shared experience of being nurtured on the same hallowed ground. The artwork features a multigenerational spectrum of dynamic Black women, each adorned in the unique confidence that is cultivated within those who have vowed, “To forever bind thy hearts to thine.”

Inspired by a regal presence, each woman is adorned in the sorority’s symbolism reflecting the spirit of greater women who push for a greater world.
Celebrating joyous sisterhood, powerful voices, and hearts of service
Through the design, I aimed to capture the essence of the multigenerational women, each dynamic in their own right, that make Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated the organization it is today.
